Dr. Charles B. Jones presented “Remarks on current research on Taixu and the Pure Land in the Human Realm” at the The 5th Symposium on Humanistic Buddhism held in Fo Guang Shan, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Dec. 15-17, 2017. He presented his talk in Mandarin. The conference was held at Fo Guang Shan, a monastic and academic center in the southern part of Taiwan. It brought together over thirty scholars from Taiwan, mainland China, the U.S., and Japan to consider the modern Buddhist movement known as "Humanistic Buddhism."
